Velvet Green Skater Skirt

Hey Guys!

So, recently I have been loving skirts and especially skater skirts however a few of them can be quite expensive and after the success of my velvet leggings that I got from ebay thanks to Styleandstarbucks's recommendation I decided to go on the hunt for a velvet skater skirt on ebay. I managed to find this one at a steal - only £5! It took about 3/4 weeks to arrive but that's normal and as someone who is in the middle of exams I don't get out of pajamas anyway... I love this skirt and am finding different outfits to pair it with and my favourite so far is a plain top and a blazer, I love the look of blazers and skirts. I would say however that the skirt was a bit shorter than other skirts so may not be able to be quite as high waisted as it states on the website as I don't quite feel like showing off that much leg...

Heeled Chelsea Boots

Hey Guys!

After 'um-ing' and 'ah-ing' for a while I finally bought these boots from Linzi. At £30 they were the cheapest I've seen of the boots but it wasn't the price that I was worried about but as I don't often wear heels I wasn't sure how comfortable they would be, nevertheless I bought them and am quite glad that I did as I am in love with them!

Humming Bird Bakery Brownies

Hey Guys!

So, for my friends birthday I decided to make her gift rather than buy her one. Obviously as cake or cupcakes are the main trail of thought I naturally chose a different route, brownies. Chocolate gooeyness with nuts and chocolate chips, it sounded perfect.

You will need
33 x 23 x 5-cm baking tray, lined with greaseproof paper
200g dark chocolate, roughly chopped (though I used 50% dark and 50% milk)
175g unsalted butter
325g caster sugar
130g plain flour
3 eggs
icing sugar, to decorate

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 170°C/325°F/gas mark 3.

2. Put the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (do not let the base of the bowl touch the water). Leave until melted and smooth.

3. Remove from the heat. Add the sugar and stir until well incorporated. Add the flour and stir until well incorporated. Finally, stir in the eggs and mix until thick and smooth.

4. Spoon the mixture into the prepared baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes, or until flaky on the top but still soft in the centre. Leave to cool completely before dusting with icing sugar, to decorate.

'Come stop your crying, It will be all right'

 Shoes - Primark

I bought this dress at the weekend as I fell in love with it, there's just something about lace that just looks so beautiful and makes me feel amazing. It's a great summer dress but with a pair of killer heels could easily turn into a night outfit. Although it is slightly see-through it wasn't bad enough that I couldn't wear it out, however without white underwear on I wouldn't recommend going out without wearing something else underneath.

Craft Fair Outings

 Hey guys!

Happy Bank Holiday Monday!

It was such a beautiful day today that we decided to use our time off to take a trip down to kent for a craft fair. If you ever get a chance I would highly recommend going down there as it was lovely and so as the day got brighter and better Emma and I decided to go for a stroll in the fields (something that in England is a rare occasion). I came home with some beautiful paintbrushes and Emma bought some art supplies too but the main purchase was a truly gorgeous handmade green bowl. Another surprise was a birds of prey display, which being me and my love of birds was a definite highlight of the day and one that will make my sister very jealous as I got to meet Oscar the barn owl. My favourite bird to see (as shown in the second photo) was the vulture as it was the first time in person I had ever seen one.

Hope you had a wonderful day off, x
